Mother Teresa is a nun who dedicated her life to better the lives of poor and needy people. She was born in a city called Skopje in the Ottoman Empire, in what is today North Macedonia. When she was just 12 years old, she decided to become a nun. When she was 18 years old, she acted upon that decision by leaving home to begin the training for becoming a nun.
She then travelled to India. There, she worked as a teacher initially. Then, she resigned her work, and began helping the poor people of India, even begging to do so. But, eventually, with the help of kind-hearted people, she established hospices. As years passed, her hospices spread all over the world. Thousands, if not millions of people were helped by her hospices.
